FAA Issues New Safety Alert Recommending More Boeing Inspections
(Washington, DC) -- The FAA is issuing a new safety alert recommending inspections on more Boeing jets. The alert suggests airlines look into door plugs of a second plane, the 737-900ER. The Federal Aviation Administration noted the jet uses an "identical door plug design to the 737-9 Max." This comes after a panel came off an Alaska Airlines flight from a loose door plug. The FAA recommended airlines inspect the bolts on the 737-900ERs, saying some operators found issues with them during maintenance inspections.
