Oldest Man in PA Passes, Was Third Oldest in U.S.
(Harrisburg, PA) -- A Pennsylvania man who died shortly after turning 110 has been laid to rest. Friends of Horace Baumer called him "Mo" and he is believed to have been the oldest man in Pennsylvania and the third oldest in the country. Baumer, who was buried late last week in Schuylkill Haven, retired as a millwright from Bethlehem Steel's Grace Mine in Morgantown. His working years also included service in the Army in World War Two. He had been retired 40 years at the time of his death in Pottsville. Those who knew Baumer attributed his longevity to his "spunky" personality and positive outlook.
