Turnpike Rates to Go Up Sunday
(Harrisburg, PA) -- A five percent increase approved by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission last July is due to take effect Sunday. The most common tolls for a passenger vehicle will increase about ten-cents, up to a-dollar-90, for E-ZPass customers. The rate will also go up about the same amount for Toll by Plate customers. Under state law, rate increases will occur every year through at least 2051 in order to fund non-Turnpike transportation needs around the state.
