>State Rep. Wants Cursive writing required in PA Schools
(Wayne County, PA) -- A Pennsylvania State Representative wants to make sure cursive writing is taught at every school in the Commonwealth. Representative Joe Adams plans to introduce legislation in the next session that would require "instruction in cursive handwriting or joined italics" to be taught in the appropriate grades. He says it'd be a good as a practical matter because cursive can show that documents are written by a person, not by artificial intelligence. He also says most documents need to be signed in cursive, too. Currently, 21 states reportedly have some degree of a cursive writing requirement.
