Lawmakers Scramble To Vote In Final Session Week Of 2023
(Harrisburg, PA) -- Plenty of unfinished business is challenging lawmakers during this final voting week of 2023. Lawmakers are trying to wrap up unfinished budget business and face deadlines to avoid having existing pilot programs come to an end. Updates to school codes and funding for tax credit programs for private school scholarships are also priority issues. The failure to pass all the code bills also has snared funding for community colleges and public libraries, too. House leaders have already announced they don't plan to return to the Capitol for voting until March - a delay they blame on the need to repairs the leaky Capitol roof.
