Governor Wants Clarification on ADA Coverage of Birth Control Pills

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Governor Josh Shapiro is among five state leaders who are asking the Biden Administration to make sure a new type of birth control pills are covered by insurance. The oral contraceptive called Opill, is the first daily birth control that will be available without a prescription. The drug's maker says they're working to make sure it will be an option for both private insurance and Medicaid. The retail price for the drug hasn't been revealed yet. Opill is set to hit the over-the-counter market by early next year.
