Horse Racing Commission Approves Slashing 19 racing Days for 2024
(Harrisburg, PA) -- The state's Horse Racing Commission has approved Penn National's request to slash 19 racing days from the 2024 schedule. The request comes as off-track betting is gaining popularity in Pennsylvania. Officials say most wagering on Penn National's racing is done off-track, either from simulcast centers or from people who use mobile devices, television or streaming video. The 115 live dates approved for next year are a drop from nearly 150 races held in 2022.
