>>Woman Killed, Teen Injured in Lancaster County Crash
(Lancaster County, PA) -- Investigators say sun glare likely played a part in a crash that killed a woman and critically injured a teen Tuesday morning. The 16-year-old boy was a passenger in an SUV that collided with a flat-bed truck at the intersection of Route 41 and Pine Creek Drive in Sadsbury Township. State police say the truck driver that hit the SUV couldn't see the traffic light was red because of sun glare. The county coroner says the SUV driver, 36-year-old Arlene Pacheco Figueroa, of Christiana, died at the scene. The truck driver was not hurt.

(Reading, PA) -- A Reading city councilwoman says it'll take ten-million-dollars to repair and restore Reading's iconic Pagoda landmark. Councilwoman Marcia Goodman-Hinnershitz said at recent forum that the pagoda will remain closed until upgrades can be made to the building's surrounding walls, stairs and walkways on Mount Penn. The costs estimates on the 115-year-old structure are part of an engineering firm's recent condition assessment. The landmark building has been closed to the public since the start of the COVID- pandemic three years ago.

(Manheim Township, PA) -- Fire crews will continue to try to tamp down embers at a composting facility in Lancaster County. Officials say they first responded to the A&M Compost site in Penn Township last Tuesday and battled the original blaze for more than 12 hours. The fire started when a truck hit a pole earlier that day, knocking out power, including connections to ventilating fans. The fire has been smoldering ever since. County hazmat analysts say they don't think the remaining hot spots will cause any air quality concerns but they continue to monitor the area as smoke continues to billow from the building.

(Reading, PA) -- PennDOT construction on Centerville Road will move into a new phase soon. Officials say lane restrictions on Route 30 in East Hempfield Township are now in effect from eight at night until 6:00 a.m. every day except for Friday and Saturday. Crews are demolishing the old bridge on Centerville Road over Route 30 as the new span just opened. This work is part of an over 36-million-dollar project to ease congestion between Marietta Avenue and Columbia Avenue. The road is expected to be ready for drivers by Christmas.

(Bechtelsville, PA) -- Grandview Speedway will open its 2024 season with the seventh annual Bruce Rogers Memorial Money Maker race Saturday, April 6th. Promoters say the dirt track outside Bechtelsville will continue to host weekly races featuring NASCAR-sanctioned modified and sportsman heats on Saturday nights. This fall marks the 62nd season of racing at Grandview.
