Shippensburg Woman Awarded More than $7M In Cooking Spray Suit
(Harrisburg, PA) -- ConAgra Brands has been ordered to pay a Shippensburg woman more than seven-million-dollars. In her lawsuit, Tammy Reese says a can of the company's cooking spray exploded and burned her badly in 2017. Her lawyer says she suffered deep, second-degree burns when the can of Swell, a commercial spray, ignited in a kitchen where Reese worked. Scar tissue from the burns reportedly still restricts how much Reese can move six years later. The jury awarded over three-million dollars in compensation to Reese and four-million for punitive damages.
