>>Child Facing Charges For Stabbing Another Child

(Lancaster County, PA) -- A 12-year-old from Lancaster County is facing charges for allegedly stabbing another child. Manchester Township police say on Saturday, the 12-year-old got into an altercation with another 12-year-old then allegedly stabbed them in the stomach with a small knife. The alleged victim was taken to the hospital for a minor injury and has been released. The 12-year-old suspect was released into their parent's custody after speaking with police.

>>Gas Prices Continue To Surge

(York, PA) -- Gas prices are continuing to surge throughout Central Pennsylvania. As of yesterday, the state average is three-42 per gallon. The national average is three-22. Triple-A officials say the surge in price is due to last week's increase in oil prices, which was the highest in years as they surpassed 80-dollars per barrel. Experts believe prices will surge again and Pennsylvanians could end up paying three-50 per gallon.

>>Deadline To Register To Vote Approaching

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The deadline to register to vote in the upcoming municipal election is approaching. State officials say Pennsylvanians have until October 18th to register to vote in the November 2nd election. Residents can vote by mail, vote now in-person by mail ballot or go to the polls on Election Day. Officials say whichever voting option you choose, the important thing is to get out and vote.

>>Pennsylvania Attorney General Expected To Announce Governor Bid

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro is expected to announce his bid for governor later this week. According to Pittsburgh's Action News 4, Shapiro will be making his official announcement this Wednesday in Pittsburgh. Several Republican candidates are in the race for the seat next year, but Shapiro would be the first Democrat to join.

>>State Universities Report Record Drop In Enrollment

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education is reporting a record percentage drop in enrollment this year. Officials say 12 of the state's 14 universities saw an enrollment decrease this year, contributing to the state's largest decrease in enrollment in more than a decade with 5-point-4-percent. Last year, during the height of the pandemic, enrollment was down about 3-point-8-percent. Officials believe the pandemic played a role in the decline, along with the impacts to family income and growing number of students working jobs that are paying 15 to 20-dollars an hour.

>> PA Inches Toward Herd Immunity

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Pennsylvania is inching toward herd immunity. As of yesterday, nearly 70-percent of Pennsylvanians 18 and up are fully vaccinated from COVID-19. Pennsylvania ranks 5th in the nation for doses administered. However, it is also one of five states still seeing an increase in COVID cases as the rest of the nation sees case rates level off.

>>York Police Searching For Homicide Suspect

(York, PA) -- York City Police are asking the public for help in their search for a homicide suspect. Police say an arrest warrant has been issued for Christian Galarza-Rodriguez in connection to the shooting of Selvin McEwan junior on October 3rd in the 200 block of East Poplar Street. The 30-year-old suffered a gunshot wound and succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Galarza-Rodriguez is facing charges of criminal homicide, recklessly endangering another person in connection to the incident and more. Anyone with information on the shooting or Galarza-Rodriguez's whereabouts is urged to call police at 717-849-2204.

>>Group Building Homes To Support Veterans

(Cumberland County, PA) -- Penn State Health and Charter Homes are building homes to help veterans connect with resources and mental health support. The group broke ground on its Got Your Six at Home project yesterday in Cumberland County. The proceeds from the homes they build will go to support the campaign, which supports veterans. Charter Homes plans on building three more homes in the state to support the program and they plan on launching a new initiative to reach and recruit more veterans.

>>Store Owners Reporting Ammunition Shortage

(Dauphin County, PA) -- Gun store owners across central Pennsylvania are reportedly experiencing an ammunition shortage. The owner of 717 Armory says nationwide shortages of shotgun shells and rifle cartridges has impacted his store and the scarce supply is causing an increase in ammunition prices. The owner added that many stores cannot even give customers timelines of when they will have more ammo in stock due to the amount of backorders. The reason for the short supply is believed to be due to a surge in gun sales during the height of the pandemic. This comes as hunting season is only weeks way.

>>Harrisburg Man Arrested For Allegedly Assaulting Woman

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A Harrisburg man is in custody for allegedly assaulting a woman last week. Police say they were notified on Sunday, three days after the incident, that Tyler Alston allegedly beat and strangled a woman during a domestic dispute. The 20-year-old was arrested in Dauphin County and taken to a Cumberland County Prison. He is facing charges of strangulation, simple assault and harassment.
