(Harrisburg, PA)Â --Â Civil rights activists say despite the nation recognizing Juneteenth as a federal holiday, more work needs to be done for racial equality. Many gathered throughout the state to celebrate the new holiday through cookouts and other activities, but activists say too many don't fully understand the day's significance. They added that there is also doubt in support from lawmakers as many are pushing for changes in current voting laws to restrict access to voting. They urge everyone to learn more about American history and even the history that isn't taught in school.
