>>Penn State, Big Ten To Move To Conference-Only For Football, Fall Sports

(State College, PA) -- Penn State’s fall sports season is going to focus on its Big Ten Conference rivals. In an announcement from the Big Ten last night, its member schools will move to conference-only schedules for football and any other sports that will happen in the fall. The conference added that any athletes who chose not to participate in intercollegiate athletics this year will have their scholarship honored by the institution and will stay in good standing.

>>Weather Blamed For I-81 Crashes

(East Hanover, PA) -- Investigators are blaming weather for more than a dozen crashes Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 81 in Lebanon County. The wrecks included 20-to-25 tractor trailers and caused one death. Around ten miles of I81 were shut down until the 14 crashes were cleared. The deadly wreck happened when a tractor trailer driver is believed to have not noticed slowing or stopped traffic and struck another vehicle at high speed.

>>Investigators Say Teen Shot Brother Following Game Of Cops And Robbers

(Waynesboro, PA) -- Police believe a deadly shooting between brothers happened while the two were playing cops and robbers in Franklin County. Troopers say 14-year-old Brayden Wright intentionally shot his nine-year-old brother in the head Wednesday morning after he became mad that the boy wouldn’t listen to him as they played. The teen told investigators he knew the weapon was loaded when he pulled it from an unlocked console near their couch. Wright has been charged as an adult, but so far, their guardians are not facing charges.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Bruce Weber is no longer Harrisburg’s finance director. Weber resigned Thursday after a photo of him naked gardening at his home was posted on social media. Dauphin County DA Fran Chardo said neighbors had complained about his lack of clothes while the man was outside in Midtown. Weber claimed he could do whatever he wanted because he was in his yard, which is also near a playground.

>>Governor Announces Support For Smaller Food Retailers

(Allentown, PA) -- Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf is rolling out a new grant program to help smaller food retailers struggling amid the pandemic. Wolf says the program is meant to ensure that everyone has access to fresh food. About $10-million in grants is available for retailers that serve customers that live in low-to moderate income areas and 50% of their sales must be from staple and perishable foods. The Department of Agriculture is accepting applications until August 14th.

(Lehigh, PA) -- Former Vice President Joe Biden and Current Vice President Mike Pence are continuing their campaign trails after making separate stops in Pennsylvania yesterday. Pence was in Lancaster and Chester counties for a fundraiser and roundtable where he spoke on future plans if reelected and bringing industries back to America, securing trade agreements and creating more manufacturing jobs. Biden toured a manufacturing plant in Dunmore where he said his economic recovery plan focuses more on the future than the past and with more being at stake than the economy, everyone needs to come together.

>>Governor Extends Protections Against Evictions And Foreclosures

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf is extending protections for homeowners from foreclosures and tenants from evictions through August 31st. The order is intended for those who have not received assistance from a Housing Finance Agency program or are not already receiving relief from a federal foreclosure moratorium program.

(Williamsport, PA) -- Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association officials are dispelling rumors that they were planning to cancel the fall sports season during next Wednesday's meeting. Executive director Bob Lombardi says the rumors are unfounded and in fact, they're looking into what needs to be done to ensure that fall sports can continue. He added that they're cautiously optimistic as the start of the 2020 high school football season is more than a month away.
