A gas leak is what prompted an evacuation in Lancaster. Authorities say UGI struck a gas line yesterday afternoon in the 100 block of North Charlotte Street causing the gas leak and evacuation. The evacuation was lifted half and hour later. Firefighters were on scene to monitor the leak.
