Budget plan passes PA Senate

A state budget plan is on its way to the Pennsylvania House.

The state Senate passed the blueprint late last night by a vote of 31-to-19.  The plan would expand casino-style gambling to truck stops, airports and ten new casino sites.

The blueprint to fix the commonwealth's financial picture is said to be favored by Republican leadership in the House.  It's uncertain what Governor Tom Wolf's reaction would be if the measure were to reach his desk.

Pennsylvania lawmakers passed a budget in late June but have not yet approved enough money to pay for the full spending plan.
