Pennsylvania is asking the Department of Homeland Security for a 'Real ID' enforcement extension. The state submitted a request yesterday, after previously getting an extension until October 10th. On the 11th, the Real ID will be the only form of state ID that can be used to enter a federal facility. In January, the ID will also be needed to board a domestic flight. PennDOT says it will not have the IDs available until the spring of 2019.
