The state Department of Environmental Protection is confirming a pipeline spill in Lower Swatara Township. The Sunoco Mariner East Pipeline spilled about 50 gallons of industrial waste into the Susquehanna River last week. More than 500 gallons spilled in the same area a week earlier. A violation notice indicates Sunoco failed to report the spill and kept drilling without containing it.
