Governor Tom Wolf is backing a bipartisan push from several governors to reform the American healthcare system. In a letter sent to Republican and Democrat congressional leaders, the governors suggest that the individual mandate from the Affordable Care Act stay in place until Congress can replace it. The plan also asks that the government eliminate federal health insurance taxes on insurers in order to give people in rural areas more options for coverage. The governors also want federal regulations to be eased to make it easier for individual states to create their own health insurance reforms. Governor Wolf signed the letter along with seven other state governors.
