The Dauphin County district attorney is opening up an investigation into the death of a child at Hershey Medical Center. The six-year-old boy was taken to the hospital for a low temperature so he was wrapped in a warming blanket. He eventually died after his temperature hit 107 degrees. Officials say a nurse from an outside agency failed to check the child's temperature over a ten-hour period. The hospital also did not report the death for 77 days instead of the required 24 hours. Penn State Hershey released a statement last week saying in part, "We recognize this situation as an unacceptable failure."
