(Philadelphia, PA) -- Calls to take down the Frank Rizzo statue across from City Hall are surfacing again. The idea of removing the former mayor and police commissioner's statue is gaining steam after Councilwoman Helen Gym tweeted earlier this week that a nationwide movement to remove monuments to slavery and racism is underway. She added that Philly has work to do to take down the statue. Those who want to see Rizzo's statue come down allege he treated the African-American community with brutality at times.
