The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is increasing tolls. Commissioners approved a six-percent increase for E-ZPass and cash customers this week. Officials say the move is necessary to meet obligations connected to the state's infrastructure needs.
The increase is required to meet the Turnpike commission's funding obilgations that include toll road system improvements as well as money for other transportation projects through Penndot.
The hike will take effect at most stops on January 7th.
