Fines for blight in York

People in York are going to have to get blight in the city cleaned up or pay a fine.  Mayor Kim Bracey announced yesterday the Neighborhood Improvement Ordinance that is meant to deal with eyesores.  People may have to pay up for having weeds and high grass on their property, trash on lawns and sidewalks, and even mattresses next to buildings.  People can be fined from 25-dollars to 300-dollars for not keeping up their properties, illegal dumping starts at one-thousand-dollars, and dumping hazardous materials can cost people five-thousand-dollars.
