Sentencing for former Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams is set for October 24th. He was sent directly to jail yesterday by U.S. District Judge Paul Diamond who said he wasn't sure Williams could be trusted to appear for sentencing. The decision came after Williams abruptly pleaded guilty to a count of accepting a bribe in his federal corruption trial and resigned from office. Williams was emotional as he told the court he was sorry and was led away in handcuffs.
