West Nile detected in Lemoyne

The state Department of Environmental Protection is confirming another positive West Nile virus mosquito.  The sample was collected in the Lemoyne Borough earlier this month.  The virus is transmitted by mosquitoes and most people infected will develop mild flu-like symptoms and recover in a few days.  In rare cases, the virus can be deadly.
