A Mount Joy man is in Lancaster County Prison after a four-hour standoff with police. The Lancaster County DA's Office says Albert N. Rittenhouse, Jr. is being held on a 500-thousand-dollar bond for firing a gun into an occupied structure and a reckless endangerment charge. Police say they were called Saturday morning after Rittenhouse fired a shot from his apartment into a neighbor's bedroom where two people were sleeping. A Lancaster County Special Emergency Response Team negotiated with Rittenhouse for an hour-and-a-half before he surrendered. No one was hurt by the shot he allegedly fired.
