PA roads safer for motorists but not pedestrians

Traffic deaths in Pennsylvania are at the lowest point ever on record.  PennDOT announced yesterday that eleven-hundred-88 people were killed in traffic accidents in 2016, which is seven less than the previous lowest total on record in 2014.

Pedestrian deaths from crashes jumped, however, from 153 in 2015 to 172 in 2016.

The state has been keeping track of the statistics for almost 90 years.
