'Electric car only' parking law takes a hit in Philly

Reserved on-street parking for electric vehicle owners in Philadelphia is being taken away. Philadelphia City Council voted Thursday, 11-to-6, to place a moratorium on a controversial ordinance that has given parking permits for E-V drivers to use to construct a charging station outside of their homes. In addition to halting new permits, existing electric vehicles aren't guaranteed a spot, as the new bill passed last night allows for two-hour public parking. Roughly sixty drivers had taken advantage of the previous ordinance, which went into effect about a decade ago.
