A Middletown woman is facing charges for allegedly beating her daughter because she incorrectly recited Bible verses. Rhonda Shoffner was arrested last week for the incident. The victim told police Shoffner was making her complete the verses and when she got them wrong, Shoffner would slam her head into the wall. She is also accused of strangling the child and then kicking her out of the house. The girl, who is under the age of 13, called her father, who drove her to the police station.
