The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office is filing charges against a former Pennsylvania state trooper in the shooting deaths of his pregnant wife and baby. Involuntary manslaughter charges were filed Friday against Joseph Miller in the 2014 deaths of his wife, Joanna, and the child she delivered after the shooting. Miller was cleared of criminal wrongdoing after he told police he was preparing to clean his gun in the family's East Norriton when it discharged, striking his wife. But authorities now say he lied when he said he wasn't aware his wife was sitting near him, and District Attorney Kevin Steele says Miller disregarded firearm safety measures.
