Joe Biden: 'We're Gonna Win This Race'

Democratic nominee Joe Biden addressed the nation from his campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, on Friday (November 6) night and said he was confident that he was going to win the presidential election. He pointed out how he has gained ground in several states, which were too close to call since Election Day.

"We don't have a final declaration of victory yet, but the numbers tell us it's clear," Biden said. "We are going to win this race. Just look at what has happened since yesterday. Twenty-four hours we were behind in Georgia, now we're ahead, and we are going to win that state. Twenty-four hours ago, we were behind in Pennsylvania, and we are going to win Pennsylvania. And now we are ahead, but we are winning in Arizona, we're winning in Nevada, and in fact our lead just doubled in Nevada."

Biden mentioned how he has received more votes than any candidate in history, saying that the voters have "given us a mandate for action."

"We're beating Donald Trump by over 4 million votes, and that's a margin that is still growing as well," he said. "One of the things I'm especially proud of is how well we've done well across America."

Biden said that even though the race has not been declared, he has already been meeting with health experts to begin tackling the coronavirus pandemic.

"While we're waiting for the final results, I want people to know we're not waiting to get work done," he said. "I want everyone to know, on day one, we're going to put our plan to control this virus into action."

Biden vowed to be a president who will "represent the whole nation."

"I've never been more optimistic about the future of this nation. There is no reason we can't own the 21st century. We just need to remember who we are."

Biden is currently just six votes shy of the 270 he needs to clinch the presidential nomination, according to projections by Fox News.
