You may have been aware of all the construction going on at Harrisburg Hospital over the last couple years. Well work is just about finished and it's time to unveil all that's been done there.
It's the new Women & Babies Center at UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg Hospital. It is actually....a hospital within a hospital. For those delivering babies you will now have new easy access parking and entry area. Valet parking. A private entrance and elevator that will take you up to the maternity area. There are new private rooms plus a new NICU (newborn intensive care unit) that will open in May featuring private rooms as well. All this and so much more.
We had the opportunity to tour the new center with Dr. Ken Oken, Medical Director of women's and children services along with Kelly Lesh, Manager of business development and program planning for women and children's services. Also Mark Webb, Construction Manager for the Women and Babies Center project.
