Pennsylvania is still fighting the opioid crisis. Still so many people are suffering and dying from addiction and overdoses.
But hope abounds at the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute (PPI) where their new treatment program for addiction AIR is helping and healing already....hundreds of sick people here in our area.
Dr. Sarah Kawasaki, Director of Addiction Services at PPI joined us last fall to introduce the AIR program and is back to give us an update on how it's doing and also to again raise awareness of this opioid crisis and how there is help and hope.
Treating opioid addiction like the disease it is. Treating it with medication along with counseling and other medical services.
