Taking Care of Business 4-1-17 Dauphin Cty Technical School

We visited Dauphin County Technical School to learn about the many classes and courses being taught there including those learning carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry and more.

We also learned about a wonderful program called "Building Construction Cares" where students and faculty travel around the country volunteering their time and talent to help rebuild homes wrecked, ravaged, damaged and destroyed from natural disasters.

These students will head to West Virginia this summer to help rebuild homes hit by horrible flooding last summer.  A wonderful story about some great kids who are learning a valuable trade and learning the importance of giving back.

We will also discuss the importance of learning a vocation.  Why there is such a need for men and women to work with their hands and become carpenters, plumbers, masons, and electricians.

Bob Brightbill & Sharon Deiling, the instructors and the students in the program join me to talk about what Bob calls "the best kept secret" in Dauphin County.
