9.18.19 Exploring PA Wines & Wineries

“Let’s Talk Travel” – Exploring PA Wines & Wineries w/Trish Brown , Paradocx Vineyards & PA Wine Assoc. Board Member and Missy Wilson, Setter Ridge Vineyards.

Winemaking in Pennsylvania began in 1683 when William Penn planted the first vineyard in Philadelphia – and today Pennsylvania boasts almost 300 wineries on some of the most fertile grape-growing land on the East coast.

The harvest months and fall is a fantastic time to take a road trip throughout PA and check out some of the wineries and the PA Wine Trails.

October is Pennsylvania Wine Month – and we’re going to celebrate the season on “Let’s Talk Travel” this Saturday morning from 11am-12pm on WHP580.

Trish Brown, General Manager for Paradocx (owned by 2 pair of doctors) Vineyards in the Brandywine Valley and a PA Wine Association board member - and - Missy Wilson, co-owner of family run Setter Ridge Vineyards in the Lehigh Valley will be my “Let’s Talk Travel” in-studio guest co hosts.

When I asked how they would answer someone saying “I only buy and drink French or California wines” – they both very enthusiastically answered – “They have no idea what they are missing. PA wines can easily compete with the big boys – just give us a try and you’ll see.”
