9.4.21 Western PA National Parks

“Let’s Talk Travel” will broadcast a two-part “Five National Parks of Eastern PA” show series with the Superintendent, Steve Clark Saturday, Sept. 4 – and Saturday, Sept. 11 from 11:00am til 12:00 noon on iHeartRadio/WHP580.

The Sat., September 4th show will feature four of the five National Parks including : the Johnstown Flood National Memorial ; Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historic Site ; Fort Necessity National Battlefield and Friendship Hill National Historic Site. Steve will give us history lessons, descriptions, and overviews on all four sites.

The Sat., September 11th show will Honor and Remember the 20th anniversary of 9/11 and feature the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, PA. Steve will tell us how it all began the morning of September 11, 2001 when four commercial airliners are hijacked by al Qaeda terrorists in a planned attack against the United States. United Flight 93, a Boeing 757 is bound for San Francisco from Newark. After 46-minutes of flying, the hijackers attack and just before 10am the plane is seen flying low and erratically over southwestern-Pennsylvania. At 10:03am it crashes, upside-down, at 563-miles per hour into the Somerset County field.
