>>Obesity Drug Could Cut Risk Of Heart Attack Or Stroke

(Plainsboro, NJ) -- An obesity drug called Wegovy could cut the risk of cardiovascular emergencies, like heart attack and stroke, by 20-percent. Drug maker Novo Nordisk hasn't released the full findings of its trial, but says results are the first to demonstrate that a weight-loss drug has medical benefits. If the study holds up, it could be compelling enough to get insurance companies to provide coverage for the medication that costs 13-hundred dollars for a monthly supply. The findings were based on more than 17-thousand overweight or obese adults ages 45 and older.
