IRS: Monday Is The Deadline For 2019 Tax Refund

(Washington, DC) -- Monday is the last chance for taxpayers to claim a tax refund from 2019. The IRS says nearly one-point-five-billion dollars in refunds remain unclaimed from the year before the pandemic, and about one-and-a-half-million taxpayers may still be eligible for a refund. There's a three-year window to claim tax refunds, but in 2020 Tax Day was delayed three months because of the pandemic, so this year, the three-year deadline falls on July 17th. The IRS says the 2019 return must be filed on paper and postmarked by Monday.
