>>Experts Offer Tips On Staying Warm, Safe Ahead Of Frigid Temperatures

(Greensburg, PA) -- Experts are offering tips ahead of the frigid temperatures that are expected to move into Western Pennsylvania later this week. Heating and cooling technicians say changing furnace filters can make sure warm air can circulate your home efficiently, also helping to avoid potential problems with the heating system. Officials with the United States Fire Administration are urging anyone tempted to use space heaters to do so safely, checking that they are at least three feet away from anything combustible, and are on adequate electrical circuits. The Pennsylvania Utilities Commission adds that testing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors can also help ensure that families remain safe.
