>>State Officials Sending A Warning To Residents About Tick-Borne Diseases

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The state Department of Environmental Protection, Conservation, and Natural Resources is planning to discuss the dangers of tick-borne diseases. Officials say the representatives from the state Fish and Boat Commission and the Game Commission will be on hand tomorrow for an informational event on tick related illness. Officials will meet at 11 a.m. at the Boyd Big Tree Preserve and Conservation Area in Harrisburg. The most serious tick-borne illness is Lyme Disease, and experts say when in areas known for ticks, people should wear repellent, check clothing and skin for the insects, then shower soon after coming back indoors.
