In Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, thousands of residents remain without power following severe storms over the Fourth of July weekend. As of Tuesday (July 7), nearly 12,000 customers in the area are still affected by outages. PPL Electric Utilities and other local crews are working tirelessly to restore electricity.

The severe weather, which included heavy rain and wind gusts up to 60 mph, caused significant damage to power lines and infrastructure. According to CBS 21, more than 116,700 customers have already had their power restored, but over 115,000 are still waiting for service to resume across eastern and central Pennsylvania.

PPL has brought in additional resources from other utilities to aid in the restoration efforts. Christine Martin, President of PPL Electric Utilities, stated, "Crews continue to work around the clock as safely and quickly as possible." The company has also offered bill credits for water and ice purchases to affected customers.

PPL Electric Utilities serves approximately 1.5 million homes and businesses in the region, and efforts are ongoing to ensure all customers have their power restored as soon as possible.
