Two individuals, Lakesha Jeffries and Luz Flores, both from York, Pennsylvania, are facing charges for allegedly stealing trading cards valued at over $11,000 from a home in Springettsbury Township in November 2024. The stolen collection included popular cards from 'Magic the Gathering', 'Yu-Gi-Oh', 'Pokémon', 'Dragon Ball Z', and 'Digimon'. According to a criminal complaint filed by Springettsbury Township Police, the cards were traceable through serial numbers and identification markings.
Police reports indicate that Flores and Jeffries sold the cards to various businesses in central Pennsylvania. Some of the stolen cards were discovered at a collectible store in Lancaster, where the owner provided a spreadsheet showing Flores sold cards to the store multiple times between February and April 2025. Flores reportedly told the store owner that her son won the cards at tournaments, raising suspicions due to the high value of the cards being sold at once.
When questioned by officers, both suspects claimed to have found the cards at yard sales and through thrifting, but they were unable to provide receipts or name any stores. Online court records show that Flores and Jeffries were arraigned on Thursday (September 3) in front of Magisterial District Judge Barry Bloss. Flores faces a felony charge of receiving stolen property, while Jeffries is charged with a misdemeanor for the same offense. Both are being held in York County Prison with bail set at $15,000 each. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday (September 17).
