A 23-year-old woman, Kira Cheatham, from Middletown, Pennsylvania, faces multiple charges after allegedly attempting to hit pedestrians with her vehicle following a fight at a Dauphin County intersection on Saturday (April 4). According to Susquehanna Township police, Cheatham was involved in a confrontation with another woman before chasing her down and crashing into her vehicle on the 3800 block of North Sixth Street.
During the incident, Cheatham reportedly performed U-turns and drove in the wrong lane, trying to hit three pedestrians with her 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe. Police documents indicate that Cheatham left her 5-year-old child alone in the vehicle during the altercation.
The conflict began at another intersection, where Cheatham allegedly threw objects and honked at the victim's vehicle. She attempted to open the rear passenger door, where a four-month-old baby was seated. A physical altercation ensued when a woman exited the vehicle, resulting in Cheatham allegedly hitting her in the face and removing her nose ring. A man who intervened was also reportedly punched by Cheatham.
Cheatham faces 14 charges, including felony counts of attempted aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children, as well as misdemeanor counts of recklessly endangering another person, criminal mischief, and simple assault. She was taken to Dauphin County Prison with bail set at $25,000. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 16.
