Lancaster Township police have issued an active arrest warrant for a 43-year-old man accused of breaking into two family members' homes, strangling one victim, and threatening to kill another — all in a single incident last week.
William J. McCardell II, 43, is wanted in connection with a series of violent domestic incidents that unfolded on Monday (March 16) in the 200 block of South President Avenue in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. According to WHP CBS 21, the Lancaster Township Police Department (LTPD) received multiple 911 calls from different individuals reporting a suspected domestic violence incident.
Investigators say McCardell broke a window in a family member's front door, reached inside to unlock it, and forced his way into the home. Once inside, he physically assaulted the victim, including strangling them. He then left that location and went to a second family member's residence, where he again broke in and threatened to kill the occupant unless they immediately vacated the property.
According to CrimeWatch, McCardell now faces the following charges: two counts of burglary (first-degree felony), one count of strangulation (second-degree felony), one count of robbery (third-degree felony), and one count of terroristic threats (first-degree misdemeanor). The warrant was issued by the Honorable Mary Mongiovi-Sponaugle.
McCardell remains at large as of Friday (March 20). The LTPD is asking the public for help locating him.
