A prescribed burn in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, spiraled out of control on Wednesday (November 5), leading to significant property damage. The fire, initially intended as a controlled burn, began around 11:48 a.m. in the 3000 block of Hill Road in Conewago Township. It quickly spread from a shed and garage to a nearby wooded area, consuming multiple vehicles in its path.

According to the Londonderry Fire Company, the blaze was initially mistaken for a two-alarm house fire before officials clarified its origins as a controlled burn that had gone awry. Fire crews from Elizabethtown, Rheems, and Mount Joy were called to the scene to help contain the fire. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

Efforts to fully contain the blaze are ongoing, as fire crews work to prevent further spread and damage. The cause of the fire's escalation from a controlled burn is under investigation, with authorities aiming to prevent similar incidents in the future.
