A teenager and his mother are facing legal charges following a large-scale vehicle blockade in Upper Bern Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. On September 27, between 1,000 and 2,000 motorcycles, ATVs, mopeds, and other off-road vehicles obstructed an intersection on Old Route 22. Participants in the event revved engines, spun tires, and performed burnouts, causing significant disruption.
According to ABC27, Pennsylvania State Police intervened to disperse the crowd. However, a 16-year-old boy from Grantville attempted to restart a moped and refused to leave the scene. Authorities arrested the teenager on multiple charges, including risking catastrophe, obstructing highways, and various traffic violations. His mother faces charges of corruption of minors.
This incident highlights ongoing challenges in managing large, unauthorized gatherings on public roadways. As the legal process unfolds, both the teenager and his mother will face court proceedings to address the charges against them.
