(Harrisburg, PA) -- A Harrisburg native is making history with the P-A State Police. Major Kristal Turner-Childs is now serving as acting deputy commissioner of staff for the P-S-P, becoming the first African American to serve in the position. She had been the first African American female to lead a troop when she became captain of Troop L in Reading. She still much be confirmed by the state senate.
