Walk To Be Held In Carlisle To Support Asian American Community

(Carlisle, PA) -- A demonstration is being planned to take place in Carlisle to show support to the Asian American community. Organizers announced recently that there will be a walk from Saint Paul Lutheran Church to the city's old courthouse held later this afternoon at 5:00 p.m. The Greater Carlisle Responders Network and the Carlisle Community Action Network are teaming up together to sponsor the event. Organizers are encouraging participants to wear masks.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- More positive COVID-19 cases are increasing in Pennsylvania. The state's Department of Health announced more than 27-hundred new positive cases yesterday. There have now been over one-million-and-45-thousand confirmed positive cases in the state since the beginning of the pandemic. About 22-hundred people are currently hospitalized with the coronavirus, and of those cases, 432 patients are being treated in the intensive care unit.

(North York, PA) -- Police are investigating after a two-year-old boy drowned in a stormwater tunnel in York County. Authorities announced yesterday that Kamdyn Torres was found dead this past Sunday night more than 300 feet from the entrance of a stormwater tunnel along East 10th Avenue in North York. The search for him began after he was reported missing earlier that evening in the 13-hundred-block of North Duke Street. Anyone with any information on the incident is being asked to contact the York County Sheriff's Department.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Jason Isbell concert that was supposed to take place next month at Riverfront Park is being postponed for later this year. The venue announced yesterday that the concert that was set for May 29th is now being rescheduled to August 28th. Officials say that already purchased tickets will be honored on the new date.

(York, PA) -- The 15th Annual Race Against Racism event in York County is going to be held virtually this year. Y-W-C-A York announced recently that it will be hosting the five-K race, run or walk event virtually from April 17th until April 24th. Organizers say Race Against Racism focuses on building community and raising awareness about the negative impact of institutional and structural racism. Those who are interested in participating in the event can find more information on the Y-W-C-A York's official website.
