The Carlisle Joint Veterans Council

Abbreviated ceremony at 10:45 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Courtyard on the square. The ceremony will open with the posting of the colors, prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance and singing of the National Anthem. Speaker will be R.J. Harris! Park Avenue will be closed to traffic. The U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center

950 Soldiers Drive, Carlisle, newest exhibit, opened just in time for Veterans Day is titled“This Will Not Stand: The U.S. Army’s Road to Victory during the Persian Gulf.”All exhibits will be open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 11. LANCASTER COUNTY

Lancaster County Commissioners

Ceremony at 10 a.m. Nov. 11 outside of 150 N. Queen St./West Chestnut Street, Lancaster. It is being held to honor veterans, specifically Lancaster County citizens and Purple Heart recipients. Bruce R. Deisinder, Vietnam War veteran and Purple Heart recipient, will provide remarks. The ceremony also includes the laying of a wreath to commemorate Purple Heart recipients, the singing of the national anthem, and the playing of taps. Everyone is invited.
