Florida Cops Issue Arrest Warrant For Antonio Brown

Memphis Grizzlies v Miami Heat

Police in Hollywood, Florida, issued an arrest warrant for former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown following an incident at his home earlier in the week. Brown is facing charges of felony burglary with battery, burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, and criminal mischief.

Officials said the Brown allegedly got into an altercation with the driver of a moving van after he refused to pay a $4,000 fee for the delivery of his personal items from his California home. The driver told police that as he attempted to leave Brown's house, Brown threw a rock at his moving truck, causing minor damage.

The driver called the police and returned to Brown's home after discussing the matter with the moving company. Brown reportedly agreed to pay $4,000 but was not happy that he was being charged for the damage to the truck. He paid the $4,000 but got into an argument over the remaining balance.

The argument escalated, and Brown, along with his trainer, Glenn Holt, allegedly assaulted the driver. Court documents allege that Brown forced his way into the driver's side of the truck and began to attack the driver. Holt took the keys from the ignition and opened the back of the moving truck to get Brown's belongings. The driver suffered scratches and bruises as a result of the altercation.

Holt was taken into custody at the scene and was released after posting a $20,000 bond. Brown retreated back into his home, and officials have been unable to contact him.

Brown has been at the center of multiple controversies over the past few months. His troubles started in training camp when he was a member of the Oakland Raiders. First, he suffered frostbite on his feet following a botched cryotherapy procedure. Then, he learned that his helmet was too old to be certified and was told to find a newer model. Brown refused and threatened to retire before filing a grievance with the NFL over the issue.

Brown then found himself in a public dispute with the Raiders' general manager and was eventually released by the team. He was quickly signed by the New England Patriots and played a single game before he found himself in trouble again. Brown's former trainer accused him of sexual assault in a lawsuit, and he was cut by the Patriots as multiple allegations surfaced against him.

The NFL launched an investigation and Brown was placed on the commissioner's exempt list while the league looks into the allegations.
