Man Charged With Murder For Forcing Girlfriend To Induce Miscarriage: Cops

A California man is accused of forcing his pregnant girlfriend to have a miscarriage. Police say that Jagmeet Sandhu, 23, held his girlfriend at gunpoint and forced her to take numerous unidentified pills. The woman then went to the hospital, where she lost her unborn child. Officials did not say how far along the woman was in her pregnancy.

A family member of the woman contacted the police, who launched an investigation into the claims. Investigators found evidence to corroborate the woman's story, and Sandhu was taken into custody.

He is facing six felony charges, including first-degree murder, first-degree burglary, assault with a firearm, and inflicting injury on a spouse or cohabitant. He was denied bail, and it is unclear if he has an attorney.
