>>Arrest Made In Franklin County Homicide

A suspect in a Franklin County homicide is now in custody following his arrest in Harrisburg on Monday (December 22). Andre Romulus, 42, was apprehended by the Chambersburg Police Department, the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, and the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force. He faces charges of criminal homicide for the death of a woman last weekend in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.

Police responded to a welfare check early Saturday (December 20) on West Washington Street, where they discovered the woman unconscious in a pool of blood. Despite efforts by emergency personnel, she later died from her injuries. The victim suffered severe trauma to the front of her face, and preliminary findings indicated blunt force trauma as the cause of death. Romulus and the victim were known to each other, and the incident was isolated to the location of the offense.

Romulus fled the scene after the incident, but authorities tracked him down with the help of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. Crimewatch PA reported that Romulus was arrested without incident.

Court documents reveal that Romulus sent a series of disturbing text messages to a friend before the crime, including one asking for a place to stay and another urging someone to check on the victim. The affidavit against Romulus, as reported by PennLive, states that he intentionally assaulted the victim, causing severe trauma that led to her death.

The identity of the victim remains unknown, and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with further information is encouraged to contact the Chambersburg Police Department.
